The Association Montessori Internationale was founded to organise the work of Maria Montessori during her life and to perpetuate it, maintaining its vitality, after her death. Those who wish to contribute to this endeavour can do so by joining the AMI as a Life Member or an Individual Member.

To keep them informed of AMI's activities, members receive the AMI journal 'Communications' two times a year and the AMI Bulletin three times a year. These publications include articles on Montessori, current information on the work of AMI and details of congresses and conferences throughout the world.

Residents of the United States may apply for membership through AMI/USA.
