The Congress Committee has received many letters and emails of thanks and congratulations regarding the Congress. We wanted to pass some of the highlights onto all those who helped make the event possible. As the letters were sent to us without any thought of being published we have omitted the names of the senders. “What a wonderful line up of speakers. And WHAT organization on the part of everyone who contributed to making the event all that it was. I'm sure that people will be talking about the Sydney Congress for many, many years to come - As a benchmark!” "You all did a marvellous job, ... what we saw in front of the scenes, was highly professional, up market, contemporary, fun, generous and done with thought, organisation and team work. You Aussies have really set a standard for all to follow, but above all else, I think it is a landmark in Montessori history, in changing the image others have of us, but more importantly changing the image we have for ourselves.” “We had a fantastic time. The professionalism with which the entire Committee and Volunteers displayed is to be highly commended.” “Thankyou for all the inspirational organization and plain HARD work that went into organising the event it was nothing short of FANTASTIC! and awe inspiring. As an Australian delegate who attended for the 4 days I am inspired (there's that word again but what else to say) beyond words as a Montessorian and as a visionary carrying a flame of love and light for all of humanity. I am moved, my heart is warmed and my energy for my class and beyond is overflowing. What a precious gift to have held such a visionary congress here down under... Thankyou again.” “Congratulations on the success of the congress. I am sure it is a starting point for many fruitful initiatives which will take form in the coming months. I wish to express my highest appreciation for the impeccable organisation and warm hospitality. The Congress was intellectually stimulating and professionally gratifying.” “It was a real privilege for our members and indeed all Montessorians to be able to experience such an exposure to the huge variety of international speakers, on a range of motivational topics that truly made us appreciate being a part of the Montessori movement.” “I guess I can only quote what was said at the end of the congress as a yardstick for its huge success: ‘the fact that the same number of people were present at both the opening and the closing ceremony was a testimony to how well the whole thing was organised.’” “’Inspirational’ probably doesn't completely describe the impact the 2005 International Congress had on me. ‘Motivating’ is also another feeling the Congress left me with. From the opening of the Indigenous Welcome to the closing speech of Renilde Montessori. The Congress's programme was a mixture of emotional highs and thought provoking lectures and videos. Some of the presentations may have on paper seemed esoteric, but they proved to have practical aspects, which can be translated into use in the classroom.” “Attending the 25th International Montessori Congress was a fantastic experience. From the moment of arrival until the farewell ceremony, the Sydney Convention Center was buzzing with 900 like-minded delegates. The organization of such a large event was amazing, with the many pink-scarved volunteers approachable and helpful, fabulous morning teas and lunches, displays, ample opportunity to meet and interact with others, and of course the inspiring speakers. Each day, the Tumbalong Auditorium was filled with delegates listening to the many pearls of wisdom from so many different speakers…. The whole Congress experience certainly helped to achieve the vision held by Congress organizers, to ‘relight the spark within every soul present’.” |
