Financial Aid for AMI Teacher TraineesMargaret Elizabeth Stephenson is widely known as one of the most highly regarded authorities on Montessori education. After achieving her primary and elementary diplomas, Miss Stephenson became a trainer of teachers in London until 1959. In 1960, by commission of the Montessori family, Miss Stephenson began training Montessori teachers in the United States. AMI/USA established the Margaret Elizabeth Stephenson 2000 Fund (MES 2000) to recognize and continue her invaluable contribution to teacher training. The MES 2000 Fund offers financial aid to AMI teacher trainees. Prospective students from any part of the world who have applied and been accepted to an AMI training center in the United States may apply for the MES 2000 Fund. Once accepted to a U.S. AMI training center, individuals should contact the AMI/USA office to request a financial aid application packet.
