Initial expression of interest in exploring the potential of Montessori in China from Michael Guo after contact with NSWMA in Sydney.

Visit to China by Carmen Parker and Sarah and Paul Brady to Suzhou and Hangzhou.
July 2003
Visit to China by Carmen Parker to Nanjong for teacher and parent workshops.
February 2004
Visit to China by Sarah and Paul Brady to Suzhou and Shanghai for teacher and parent workshops.

Contacts initiated by Michael Gou through to various provincial governments to explore feasibility and interest in Montessori education in China.

Sydney Congress with delegation of 35 drawn from approx 20 different provincial governments throughout China. Carmen Parker and Michael Guo initiated meeting with AMI to explore the possibilities.
Nov 2005
The potential for a China course with AMI initiated through contact with Megan Tyne.
April/May 2006
Proposal drafted by Wulinmen School to install the Montessori teaching method within the school approved and given financial grant by the Zheijiang provincial government.
June 2006
Contact with Ms Chen at Wulinmen School that lead to invitation to Australian Montessori directresses to undertake workshop in Montessori for teachers at the Hangzhou Wulinmen School.

Delegates from Wulinmen School visit Sydney on exchange with Farmhouse Montessori Sydney.
Training and budget proposal developed for AMI submission.

Approval by AMI of submission for course. Approval given on 6 January 2007, in Rome, 100 years to the day since the first Casa dei Bambini, in a special meeting with Chinese delgates, André Roberfroid, Mary Hayes, Shannon Helfrich and Megan Tyne.
April 2007
Visit Matty and Dirk van Drempt school visits teacher and parent workshops.
May 2007
Visit by André Roberfroid President AMI, Megan Tyne Project Officer AMI, Dr Jean Miller AMI 6-12 Trainer.
Aug 2007
Visit by Shannon Helfrich AMI 3-6 Trainer, Megan Tyne Project Officer AMI, Jessica Scrimes and Matty and Dirk van Drempt.
