Any advice for new teachers who are just starting off?

Stay close to your training. Trust the science of Montessori education. Observe. Observe. Observe. Remember your work is to create conditions in the environment to support optimal development and learning through each unique child’s independent activity. Be a patient and humble partner with the children and their parents. Read any chapter of Montessori’s writings with the word ‘adult’ or ‘teacher’ in the title. Every day, acknowledge what is going well. Never ask what am I doing wrong; ask what do I need to do differently. Celebrate the days when the person who learns the most in your environment is you.
