Voices of Educateurs sans Frontières 2021/2022

The Voices of Educateurs sans Frontières, will commence in July 2021 around the theme: Child, Community, Cosmos – From Independence to Interdependence. Voices of Educateurs sans Frontières aims to facilitate and encourage conversation around the broader social mission at the core of Montessori.

It aims to provide a new perspective on the interdependence between the child, community and cosmos, and to inspire a conversation on the responsibility we have towards ourselves, others and nature given this interdependence. The series will address the challenges and responsibilities that the journey from independence to interdependence entails as children are prepared to adapt to their environment and to their time, place and culture. Throughout the series, the role of interdependence in the challenges of today’s world and the innovative solutions that are needed to overcome these challenges, will be explored.

The following sessions will be held:

  • 8 July 2021: Supporting human development
  • 2 October 2021: Feedback session
  • 11 November 2021: Sowing the seeds of culture
  • 29 January 2022: Feedback session
  • 1 March 2022: Finding our connection to nature
  • 30 April 2022: Feedback session

Each topic includes a speaker session as well as an interactive session and smaller discussion groups. The format of the series facilitates the conversation to go from local to global, appreciating local differences but also emphasising the connection and interaction. It allows for participants to relate their local experience to global questions and compare their insights and experiences to those of other participants.

Registration to this event will open 19 May. Participants are expected to join for the complete series as the interconnection between the sessions is an essential part of the programme. To ensure interactive sessions, there is a maximum of 80 participants.
