Dr. Sigrid Niedermayer is a member of the international co-ordinating team for the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network. She is co-responsible for co-ordinating UNESCO's global educational network of some 6,600 pilot schools in 168 countries worldwide. Some of these pilot schools practice innovative pedagogical methods such as Montessori, Waldorf, Freinet. Dr. Niedermayer is an expert in the challenges of international education and values education within formal educational systems, also including countries in post-conflict situations, such as Bosnia, Rwanda, and Cambodia.
