Pierre Bastide was born in France in 1947. From a very young age he discovered his passion for Music and has included it in all his professional activities ever since. In 1969, he graduated in Psycho-motricity and starts his work with the Externat Médico-Pédagogique in Fontenay-Sous-Bois (near Paris, France) as well as other centres. In 1975, he obtained a degree in Computer Science (speciality: "artificial intelligence") and in 1978, a Master's Degree in Musicology. From 1970 to 1996, as "Chargé de cours" of the "Université de Paris", Mr.Bastide continued to combine Music and Computer Science in his research at university level and as a therapist. He is convinced that even mental illness may be cured with innovative methods. In 1996, he became Director of the Centre E.M.P where he makes it his "mission" to further develop the Centre with a team of Montessori-oriented professionals.
