After experience in State Schools, whilst doing
further studies, Muriel Dwyer discovered she
herself had been to a Montessori school. Later she
trained with Mario Montessori himself. She then
worked closely with him and between them they
established the Maria Montessori Training
Organisation (MMTO) in London, with Miss Dwyer as
Director of Training, a position she held for many
years.
A call from Africa led to the eventual beginning of the Help the Children Projects there.
Muriel Dwyer has served on the board of the
Association Montessori Internationale, its
Pedagogical Committee, and the MM 75 Fund.
She remains closely associated with Africa and
with the MMTO, where she is Chairman of the Board
of Directors.
