After undergraduate studies at the Rochester
Institute of Technology (NY) and receiving his
doctorate in medicine from Temple University in
Philadelphia (PA), Dr. John F. Erhart completed the
psychiatric residency and child psychiatry
fellowship. Dr. Erhart is the Consulting
Psychiatrist for two Rochester agencies, which
provide services to individuals with mental
retardation and developmental disabilities, and
supervising psychiatrist in a rural community
mental health centre. In addition, Dr. Erhart also
provides psychiatric consultation to the Monroe
County (Rochester NY) Board of Cooperative
Education Services (BOCES). With Ms.
Sullivan-Smith, Dr. Erhart co-founded The
Montessori Intervention Programs (MIP), a
not-for-profit agency inspired by the Association
Montessori Internationale's Educateurs sans
Frontières initiative. Dr. Erhart serves as
President and Board Chairman of MIP. With Ms.
Sullivan-Smith, Dr. Erhart is participating in the
design and implementation of the BOCES/MIP
Asperger's Initiative.
