Ingeborg Breines is currently the Director of UNESCO’s Women and a Culture of Peace Programme created in 1996 with the purpose of integrating a gender perspective in all its activities. Ms. Breines served on the National Council for Innovation in Education in Norway, and also on the National Norwegian Commission for UNESCO. She has an MA in Arts (French Literature, History of Art, History of Ideas).
Her publications include: Methodology for the Teaching of Gender Equality (Norway), Towards a Women’s Agenda for a Culture of Peace (UNESCO, 1999); Masculine Roles, Masculinities and Violence. A Culture of Peace Perspective (UNESCO, 2000).
