In the 1970s Sister Gaspara Kashamba saw the
Montessori work being undertaken in Dar-es-Salaam
and persuaded her superiors to allow her to train.
There after she gained experience by working with
the programme there. In the 1984 Sister Gaspara
came to London and studied at the MMTO to gain her
International Diploma. She stayed on in London to
gain experience both with the children and with the
training programmes. Returning to Tanzania she
undertook the enormous task of obtaining the funds
to build a Training Centre in Lushoto and has been
training there ever since.
