AMI's Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, 14 April 2012. Around this member event we again have a fully packed weekend on offer. All parts of the programme take place at the Industrieele Groote Club, 27 Dam Square, Amsterdam.

13 April 2012 — AMI Reception

If you are already in Amsterdam on Friday April 13, please join the AMI Board for their traditional Reception at the Industrieele Groote Club. You are welcome from 17.30 - 19.30 for drinks and some snacks.

14 April 2012 — AMI Affiliated Societies Meeting

On the morning of 14 April, Montessori societies will be meeting from 09.30 to 12.30. Interested people are very welcome as observers. This meeting also takes place at the Industrieele Groote Club.

14 April 2012 — Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Saturday,14 April 2012 at 14.00 hrs at the Industrieele Groote Club, 27 Dam Square, Amsterdam. This meeting is open to current AMI members only.

15 April 2012 — Open Forum

The Open Forum will take place on Sunday, April 15, 2012, from 10.00 - 16.00 hrs at the Industrieele Groote Club, 27 Dam Square, Amsterdam.
Theme: Parent Education
The Open Forum will be an interactive event, with focus on reaching out to parents. With presentations by Louise Livingston (Aid to Life), Sylvie Mittelman (Designing a Programme for Parents), Mary Caroline Parker ("The Silent Journey" workshop for Parents) and Steve Hughes (School 2.0)
Participants will be inspired to follow up with break-out sessions, questions and active engagement.

How to Get to the Venue

The bus company Connexxion runs a shuttle service from the airport to more than 100 hotels in the city of Amsterdam between 06.00 a.m. and 21.00 p.m. Please check www.schipholhotelshuttle.nl for details on the hotels serviced, fares, time, a map of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and more. The site has information in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Tickets are available at the Connexxion desk on Schiphol Plaza, the Tourist information, hotels and with the driver. Children from 4 to 14 years of age get 50% discount. Children from 0 to 4 years travel free of charge. Buses leave every ten minutes from platform A7, situated immediately outside the Arrivals hall. You will not have to wait longer than 30 minutes. The Industrieele Groote Club is easily reachable from Amsterdam's main Central Station (10-minute walk) and many tramlines (4, 9, 16, 24,25, and 2) stop close by.

Afternoon Speakers

Launch of the publication of Maria Montessori's 1946 London Lectures with an introduction by the title's editor, Dr Annette Haines.

Professor Raniero Regni, our key note speaker will talk about "Montessori and the Adolescent". Raniero Regni is associate professor of Social Pedagogy and Adult Education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of Libera Università Maria Ss. Assunta (LUMSA) in Rome and a referee for the graduate course in Educational and Formative Sciences of the LUMSA in Gubbio. Prof. Regni graduated in Philosophy from the University of Perugia, and is a Doctor in Pedagogical Research. He was a teacher of History and Philosophy at a secondary school (lyceum). He published books on education and globalization, including Cosmic Education.
